Momoyo Kaijima, Junzo Kuroda, and Yoshiharu Tsukamoto’s book Made in Tokyo is now over fifteen years old. Since its publication in 2001, the seemingly simple and cartoonlike axonometric drawings that characterize the book have been admired and endlessly emulated by a generation of urbanists. However, with the passage of time and the proliferation of architectural illustrations that mimic this technique, it is perhaps easy today to overlook the book’s significance.
