Over the last few decades, several North American cities have experienced growth near their urban cores, where demand is high. Many local governments take advantage of abandoned industrial land, partnering with private partners to develop these landscapes into attractive communities. Searching to benefit both incoming and existing communities, these new developments feature large parks designed to serve as landscapes for social cohesion. Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico, is one of these parks.
